- Aidan O'Hara Review added: 2018.11.04★ ★ ★ ★ ☆Beautiful peaceful well located cottage. Myself and my partner stayed here with the dog over the New year and had a wonderful relaxing uninterrupted time. The owners were very helpful and as we arrived very late they left key in a secure safe box area and lights on outside and the garden was amazingly lit up with 2 xmas trees and looked like a fairy garden with the bridge and river running through. The drive was a little steep but not a problem for your average driver and we found it hilarious walking up and down it especially after a couple of drinks. The dog had no problems either at 18yrs old. Inside the cottage was lovely and tidy and every amenity was there to cook dinner and breakfast and the TV had all digital channels and also a few cd's with lots of books and games to keep entertained if weather is bad. The bedroom was cosy and bed comfortable and it had a nice bath with power shower too. As expected with old buildings there will be warm versus cold humidity so humidifier in the room done a good job and very quietly too. The heaters kept every room comfortably warm and the missus never moaned once about anything.
We had decent weather and went on nice walks 15 mins away to the beach and cliffs and via the pubs in the evening which are all really friendly with good food and lots of beer choices and for Mornings theres a cafe there too which does big breakfasts and all allow dogs. It's not far to drive to other nice locations too like tintagel, padstow and even Jamaica inn. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay here again in the near future.
